One thing that most people on Jordan holidays want to experience is the viewing of many of the great biblical cities, Moab, Edom and Jericho are all easy accessible from the country. Jordan hotels are usually only found in Amman, the capital or at the resorts on the Red Sea, the same can be said for flights to Jordan. Where to go

Travelling around Jordan is walking on holy ground. Many of Jordan's cities and villages are great historical sites. To name but a few: the kingdoms of Ammon, Moab and Edom are located along the six thousand years old King's Highway. From the top of Mount Nebo one can see the Dead Sea, as well as Jerusalem and Jericho, just like Prophet Musa (AS) did when he first caught a glimpse of the Holy Land. Near the river Jordan lies Bethany, the home of Prophet Yahya (AS), and the place that Isa(AS) fled to for safety after being threatened to be stoned to death in Jerusalem.

The resorts on the red sea are most popular, and with more development there will be more Jordan hotels and more flights to Jordan. The family run hotels in this area are renowned for their incredible hospitality, when a Jordanian, especially one who runs a Jordan hotel is hosting you, they will be incredibly good hosts.

In the north and west of the country the mediterranean climate is prevailing, while the rest of the country is desert.

Generally the country has warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters with annual average temperatures ranging from 12 to 25°C (54 to 77°F) and summertime highs reaching the 40°C (105 to 115°F) in the desert regions.

Rainfall averages from 50 mm (1.97 inches) annually in the desert to 800 mm (31.5 inches) in the northern hills, some of which falls as snow in some years.

The water temperature of the Red Sea varies from 20°C in winter to 28°C in summer.

Food is an important part of the culture and is used to express hospitality and generosity. Jordanians are exceptionally hospitable. Do not be surprised if you are invited to share a meal in someone's home... when Jordanians invite you, they mean it!
