Damascus is the capital of Syria and it’s the biggest city with a population of about 4.5 million people. There are internal cheap flights to Damascus; Aleppo, Deir-ez-Zur, Qamishli, and occasionally Latakia, costing approximately 1000 SP one way. Observe that there are no cheap flights from Beirut to Damascus.
The Damascus airport is relatively well equipped with most sophisticated services. The tax-free assortment is inadequate, but prices are fairly low, especially on perfume. You might find economy on goods such as Lebanese wine, araq and similar items before departing the airport to your cheap flight to Damascus.
